Princess of DIY Pop, Carla J. Easton is fast emerging as one of Scotland’s significant voices and prolific writers.
Wondrous, synth-soaked and uncompromising symphonic pop, Easton started out writing in the now cult-like MySpace-kids Futuristic Retro Champions before founding the Spector-esque girl group Teen Canteen (who have performed several times at Doune the Rabbit Hole). A productive 2016 saw the release of two critically-acclaimed albums, Teen Canteen’s Say it All with a Kiss (nominated for Scottish Album of the Year 2017) and her debut solo album Homemade Lemonade.
Championed by BBC6Music’s Marc Riley, Easton has performed across many key festivals and showcases both in the UK and internationally, and we look forward to earwigging her outstanding pop melodies at Doune.
