The Luke La Volpe band formed in July 2017; each of the members had their own separate music careers but started playing together for fun and quickly realised the potential they had.
The musicians bring together a mixture of blues and rock and roll to form a unique live sound, which has been generating interest across the industry.
Since their formation, the band has enjoyed performing to packed venues across the country, supporting the likes of Alabama 3, Gerry Cinnamon & Tom Clarke (The Enemy), as well as selling out their debut own EP launch at the Caves in Edinburgh in late 2017.
The EP itself – entitled ‘Judging Books’, proved extremely popular, and was highly praised across the industry. GigsAndBands.com described it as “pretty impressive on all fronts with a sound that falls somewhere along the continuum containing Johnny Cash and Jack Lukeman”.
A tour support with Lewis Capaldi followed, as did a live appearance on national television and in national press, as well as an intimate set for London’s iconic Sofar Sounds – all of which culminated in an increasing crowd of loyal followers for the band.
Luke La Volpe went on to sell out headline shows at Broadcast (Glasgow) and Dreadnought Rock in Bathgate; 2018 ending with the band playing alongside Jake Bugg in both Kilmarnock and Edinburgh.
Labelled by EH6 Festival as “An unmissable live act”, The Modern Record are full of praise for their “really tight set” – it’s really is an exciting time for Luke La Volpe.
