Martin John Henry (De Rosa)

Martin John Henry is a singer-songwriter from Lanarkshire, Scotland. He is the frontman of De Rosa (Chemikal Underground, Rock Action Records) and one half of duo Henry & Fleetwood. De Rosa’s debut single Camera was championed by John Peel and their acclaimed studio albums – Mend (2006), Prevention (2009), and Weem (2016) – have become cult classics.

Henry’s debut solo LP The Other Half of Everything (2011) was praised as:

Martin John Henry has toured Europe extensively – supporting Mogwai, Doves, Agnes Obel and Arab Strap. He has collaborated with Under the Skin author Michel Faber on the album, Ballads of the Book (Chemikal Underground, 2007).

In 2018 – with De Rosa – Martin John Henry was invited by Robert Smith to play his Meltdown festival at the Southbank Centre in London. Martin is currently writing new De Rosa material while recording a new EP with collaborator Gillian Fleetwood.
