SUPA & Da Kryptonites

SUPA & Da Kryptonites are a high octane award winning 10 Piece, mad grime/rudy ska band from Scotland. Spending the last few years honing their noise touring the length of the UK With a James B funk flavour, rub a dubbed with Reggae vibes, licks of Drum & Bass…echoes of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Swing & Soul. SuPa create an infectious energy with a second to none stage performance, from crowd favourite..laying down the infamous “Krypto-Hop” for all to stick their arse in its own postcode. Or the call & return chants that would leave the avid Human Traffic viewer scrambling to shout ‘Noice waaaan brother’. Now go¬†pack that in tight, with a bright & tasty horn section, a chameleon of a rhythm section, effortless soulful vocals, a rudeboy emcee and there is no wonder they say ‘Keep It SuPa!’

In their first year, SUPA & Da Kryptonites set the bar high, Winning ‘The Best Unsigned Band’ competition, run by The Sunday Herald & XFM. They went on to be included in STV’s Ones To Watch. Now becoming a regular on the festival circuit, the band have become accustomed to huge stages, hyping widespread audiences as part of major festival lineups at Eden, Kelburn, Wickerman, Solfest, Carnival 56, Knockengorroch World Ceilidh & tons more.

Da Kryptonites released their Debut E.P ‘KRYPTONIUM” in 2016, which saw the band receive airplay from various national Radio Stations, including BBC Radio 6 Music, announcing ‘Jar To A Butterfly’ as track of the week & Amazing Radio hosted by Jim Gellatly. This wide spread coverage has led the band to go on and support some musical greats like Sir Jimmy Cliff, Terry Hall (The Specials), Sir John Holt, Akala, The Mouse Outfit, The Dub Pistols, Grandmaster Flash, Deacon¬†Blue, Too Many Zooz, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Stereo Mcs, Example & DJ Livewire, Squeeze, LuLu, The Waterboys, Jake Bugg, Crazy Town & more…

With a slick as funk follow up EP ‘KRYPTOMANIAC’ released in 2018 and another on the way for 2019 ‘Cutting Kryptonite’ Da Kryptos hope they can play to an audience near you soon! Big tings a gwarn!
