How might singing in choirs help people who are homeless?
Choirs set up for people who are homeless is a little known but growing area of Community Music. Participating in these groups brings positive social and wellbeing benefits and can lead to a shift in the identity of the singers while challenging the misconceptions of the audience. Shelly will uncover the rise of groups in the UK and Rio de Janeiro through her work as a choir leader and a researcher.
