We are delighted that Sketchy Beats Cafe will be running our jam tent this year!
Sketchy Beats is a non-profit community arts space, occupying a small part of the old State Cinema on Great Junction Street, Leith, Edinburgh. The space hosts art sessions and open jams during the week and on the weekends is free for people to organise their own events.
The cafe is full of musical instruments, artwork by local artists and free sketching materials for anyone to use as they sit and listen to music.
Sketchy Beats is designed to be affordable and accessible to everyone, acting as a stepping stone for people who have never performed or exhibited their work in public before. It also functions as a creative hub, allowing people to share ideas and make new connections. The main idea behind the space is that everyone is creative and art should be celebrated in all its forms – creativity brings the community together!
Whether you want to play a bassline, or colour in between the lines, come on doune and sketch to a beat!
